The New Floors
Well we are finally done dealing with insurance and quotes and have finally gotten our check to start on the floors. We went to a few places and didn't like anything and I actually found better deals at Lumber Liquidators for the hardwood replacement and Lowes for the new tile (yes!!!) in the kitchen than our installer's wholesaler. We will pay a little extra upgrade to solid hand-scraped hardwoods from our high end laminate, but I think it will be so worth it. The tile we put in the bathrooms isn't really sold unless we want to mail order it, which is insane and risky, so I luckily found some almost identical at Lowes and had a 10% off coupon (thanks to Staci telling me that you can buy them on ebay! what?? it totally worked too). The tile is American Olean Kendal Slate Carlisle Black Porcelain . I'm super excited to finally have tile in the last wet area! We are also going to continue it into the laundry room and get rid of the last vinyl flooring in the house....
